Joyeeta Rahman's Design Portfolio 

DP-0 is our very first IBEHS design studio project where we came up with a solution to carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). CTS is a condition caused by the compression of the medial nerve in the carpal. It causes pain, numbness, and tingling in the arm and hand. For our first design studio project, we have created a brace that can aide people with this condition by providing support for the wrist and help keep it in a neutral position. Utilizing this brace is much simpler than undergoing a surgery and can heal CTS overtime. We have made the brace in a way so that it still allows movement of the phalanges to some extent which ensures comfort for the user. We also made it adjustable through using Velcro so that it fits the wrists of people with different hand sizes and wrist measurements.
