An Ostomy is an artificial hole created through surgical procedure on the abdominal wall to excrete waste for people who have problems with their GI tract. Our patient suffers from a retracted stoma which is basically a stoma that appears to be sunken or below the skin level. The following are the images of our low-fidelity prototype. The device that my team and I have come up with is called StomIN. It acts as a transport channel between the stoma and the flat skin barrier in order to transport bodily waste from the stoma directly into the ostomy bag.
